Core Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Manage the programme of all technical inspections and professional appraisals of relevant buildings and all statutory inspections of assets.

  • Ensuring that all tasks are undertaken in accordance with corporate policy, including health and safety, financial control and technical issues.

  • Ensure all defect liability / end of warranty tasks are completed on time.

  • Advise on health and safety matters and legislation.

  • Ensuring that company quality procedures are adhered to in all aspects of project execution.

  • Promoting best practice and conformity with MoD policy.

  • Responsible for providing effective management of MoD assets in across the wider Middle East in line with UK MOD Spec 024. Assets include temporary and permanent military accommodation, offices and work areas (such as hangars, maintenance facilities, ammunition storage facilities etc.).

  • Compiling and maintaining asset records in a proprietary property management database.

  • Carrying out pre-occupation surveys.

  • Advise on Building Regulations and British Standards.

  • Ensuring that suitable maintenance tasks are attached to all assets in Theatre.

  • Ensure all maintenance is issued and completed within contractual timescales utilising the Maximo IMS system.

  • Review and maintain the Theatre wide Asbestos and Legionellosis management plans.

  • Review and maintain theatre data packs and the Master Index.

  • Producing, reviewing and updating the Employer’s facilities management records on all sites across the estate.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

  • The incumbent will be a UK National with significant experience (5+ years) supervising a deployed hard facilities management contract supporting the UK MOD.
  • They will hold an appropriate qualification in a suitable Technical/Engineering area of expertise.
  • They will be required to have proven man management abilities preferably with a deployed multinational work force.
  • The position will be client facing therefore the incumbent should have proven presentational skills preferably to a Military client.
  • The Asset Manager should have a good appreciation of SHEF activities and be conversant with MOD SSoW processes. He should hold an appropriate Health and Safety at Work qualification.
  • The Asset Manager should be an experienced engineering manager. He should preferably be registered as a MOD Authorised person with a valid AP certificate in at least one discipline.

  • The Asset Manager will work closely with the O&M Manager with on-site interface with the Employer’s representatives

  • Responsible for the performance and conduct of staff under his area of responsibility

  • Responsible for the training and welfare of staff.
