Asset Equipment Manager - Logistics / Distribution

Base in Rugby or Warrington areas - with some travel

Salary £30K plus Company Car and excellent Benefits

Our client is one of the best known names in the delivery market, providing customers with high standards of quality and service.

Our Client’s business utilises a wide range of assets and equipment across its network as key operational tools for processing parcel deliveries. To support the continued expansion a dedicated role is required to develop management and tracking systems, control stock levels and arrange measured procurement ahead of each peak trading cycle.

Principle accountabilities:

  • Manage mechanisms for accurate stock monitoring across the network
  • Manage stock condition of assets across the network
  • Undertake audits of stock across sites in the network
  • Provide regular periodic reports on asset stock levels
  • Ensure stock condition complies with statutory regulations and appropriate arrangements are in place to maintain good condition
  • Explore supplier opportunities for new products, alternative materials and improvements in design
  • Explore potential for use of technology to track and manage assets
  • Work with procurement team to explore cost saving opportunities and supplier savings
  • Build up solid understanding of operations in order to then recommend and implement operational process changes to ensure best use of operational assets, and to recommend alternative asset solutions
  • Define operational routes using equipment
  • Define quantities per route
  • Manage asset quantities per site and arrange movement across network if required
  • Identify open ends in network and recommend ways to close
  • Identify potential alternative types of equipment to serve operation
  • Identify alternative operating models to use equipment

What essential knowledge, experience, skills, qualifications are needed for the role to be effective?

  • Full driving license required as role involves nationwide travel
  • Strong relationship and management skills with the ability to build and enhance new and existing contacts across the company
  • Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel spreadsheets using formulae and pivot tables, and use of Outlook, Word and Powerpoint
  • Problem solving and effective forward planning
  • Experience in mapping out business processes and business process analysis would be a strong benefit
  • An ability to analyse and evaluate data alongside real world operations to give practical solutions
  • Be innovative and seek to exploit new technologies and processes where possible
  • Positive communicator to help build relations and understand business processes
  • Ability to prioritise workload and be flexible in approach to managing time
