Three vacancies are available to join the Assembly Department within a global organisation that encourages and supports its employees to reach their full potential. Opportunities are available for a Vacuum Coating Technician, a Glass Cleaner and an Assembly Craftsperson to join the team on a fixed term basis for 12 months.

What will the roles of Vacuum Coating Technician, Glass Cleaner and Assembly Craftsperson entail?

Working within the Assembly Department, the three roles will include a variety of duties such as cleaning optical parts, monitoring and replenishing chemicals, to assembling a range of sophisticated electro-optical instruments and operating vacuum coating chambers to deposit coatings on components used for both military and commercial applications.

You’ll work as part of a dedicated team, handling high value products which must be dealt with the appropriate levels of care and precision, and you’ll play a key role in supporting the achievement of customer requirements, improving processes and providing quality work standards.

What will I need to be considered for the Vacuum Coating Technician, Glass Cleaner and Assembly Craftsperson vacancies?

  • Proven ability to work under pressure in a demanding environment
  • Mechanical aptitude and an appreciation of mechanical principles
  • A good level of education, with O Level/GCSE Grade C or above in Maths and English
  • Keen willingness to learn
  • Flexible approach to work with a positive 'can do’ attitude
  • Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
  • Keen eye for detail
  • Strong IT skills

The following attributes are considered desirable for the Vacuum Coating Technician role:

  • A-Level (or equivalent) qualification in Physics or Mathematics
  • Proven experience of working in a manufacturing environment, preferably involving high-value / precision-made products
  • Experience / awareness of AS9100

Optical handling experience is desirable for all three roles, although not essential as full training will be provided.

Salary: £21,138 per annum, plus shift allowance of £4,444

Hours of Work: 37 hours per week across three shifts within Monday to Friday. You may be working on a weekly rotation of mornings and afternoons.

Contract Type: 12-month fixed term contract

Location: St Asaph (Denbighshire, North Wales), conveniently located near to the A55.
