Aspiring Youth Justice Officer Swindon - Education and Training - November 23rd 2020- Aspiring Youth Justice Officer Swindon

This LSA role will also appeal to psychology graduates interested in Social, Youth and Criminal Justice. Looking at the Socio- Economic, class, race and faith factors that affect mental health and the approaches to mental health, is a crucial area. The roles are also ideal for an Aspiring Clinical, Education or Forensic, Psychologist.

You will be working 1:1 with students, in small groups and as part of the wider group. Your focus will be to demonstrate why education is important while bridging the attainment gap for the students, as much as possible.

Understanding the dichotomies, diversity and cultural effects on mental health in an area like Dorking, is vital to being able to have the stoic and durability nature to thrive in this role. Maintaining behaviour of the students, where possible and raising academic achievement, can be difficult.

There will be a plethora of reasons why each boy is in the school, they will have suffered different traumas and all different contexts. It's a case of forming relationships with the boys, over time. There are no quick fixes here, if you have a utopian idea of being able to 'save' every student, you will not succeed. You may help plant ideas that you will not see the full, positive effects or end results from, know that they are there and will happen.

Sincerity is vital in this Learning Support Role, you must know why you want to work with the students. If you have had previous personal, family experience or support work experience as a graduate, this will give you a solid foundation.
