Aspiring Youth Justice Officer Reading- Education and Training - October 25th 2020 - Aspiring Youth Justice Reading - LSA role with an Immediate start

If you have had experience in a support work setting or aiding those in recovery, this LSA role in Oxford could be an outstanding opportunity to gain further experience.

How have the current events and context in the UK changed the way you feel about Criminology, Criminal and Youth Justice? This Graduate LSA role will give you the opportunity to work with students, all boys, aged 9-16, in a Social, Emotional and Mental Health context. A holistic approach will be employed in this school; therapy plays a large part in the rehabilitation of the boys.

Understanding the dichotomies, diversity and cultural effects on mental health in an area like Oxford, is vital to being able to have the stoic and durability nature to thrive in this role. Maintaining behaviour of the students, where possible and raising academic achievement, can be difficult. You have to understand the mental health issues that will have caused the students to be excluded, in the first place.

This is a LSA role where you will be working with some very vulnerable children, displaying many different types of behaviour. Some will be incredibly charismatic, yet, confrontational. It is listening and understanding their POV.
