A well-established SEN school in Oxford are recruiting for an aspiring occupational therapist to join their support staff team and aid their students in coping with social, emotional and mental health needs. This would be a perfect platform for a graduate hoping to become a qualified therapist in their career, with a genuine passion for better understanding young people with psychological needs.

This students at this school all come from diverse backgrounds, facing different challenges in relation to neglect, trauma and anxiety. They require consistency and support while learning to regulate their emotions and process their thoughts and feelings. As an aspiring occupational therapist, you will see how you can help students to approach these challenges in a healthy manner, therefore will need to be resilient, passionate and enthusiastic about mental health support.

The experience of working on a one-to-one basis to ensure students are on task while collaborating with the class teacher will prepare any aspiring ocupational therapist for the collaboration required in their future career. You will also get to work with on-site professionals and other experienced staff to provide tailored education. Learning to identify and address possible triggers for the pupils in regard to their trauma and psychological needs will be fantastic for any aspiring occupational therapist to see what their future career will include. The role will also include facilitating different therapeutic techniques with the goal of promoting students' mental well-being. This opportunity is an amazing chance for psychology graduates to work alongside and receive advice from Psychologists and Therapists based at the school!
