About the role
Long-term teachers are excited to be recruiting for a passionate and open-minded SEND Teaching Assistant to work in an all-through SEND school in South Gloucestershire. This role will be a long-term, stable position for the right person with the potential to go permanent.
The school are an incredible school which provide education to children with ASD as a primary diagnosis. The school is a cosy, homeley setting and they are set on a beautiful grounds. Being rural, it's imperative that any support people joining the school are drivers to be any to reach the school.
Some of the benefits of working as a teaching assistant for Long-Term Teachers include;
- Gaining valuable experience
- Working school hours (8.30-3.30pm)
- Attractive rates of pay
- No two days are the same
The ideal candidate for this role would be friendly, approachable, and dedicated to assisting the class teacher with the day-to-day running of the classroom environment. This challenging yet incredibly rewarding opportunity would be perfect for an individual who is calm and caring, and can demonstrate a strong level of patience and resilience.
Experience with SEND is not necessary; the school are more interested in speaking with someone who is open-minded, eager and dedicated. If you DO have experience with SEND, however, that will be helpful as you will be working with children with complex additional needs. If you don't have experience with SEND, you must at least have some experience of working with children whether it be youth work, care work or healthcare.
A teaching assistant qualification or experience in working with children would be advantageous but not essential.
If you are keen to begin a career in the special educational needs and disabilities sector and this sounds like the role for you, we would love to hear from you!
