ASD Teaching Assistant

Are you a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant with experience working with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder)? We are currently looking for a ASD Teaching Assistant in Newport with experience supporting SEND pupils, particularly students on the autism spectrum. The perfect candidate would be enthusiastic and passionate about SEND with a great understanding of the autism spectrum.

This role will be supporting pupils with ASD within a small classroom setting. You will also be responsible for promoting an inclusive learning environment striving to support all their pupils social and emotional understanding. You will be working with a variety of students giving you the opportunity to build your skills across a range of needs giving you a full experience of providing support across the spectrum.

Key Job Requirements

*Autism Awareness Course or relevant qualification (advantageous.)

*The ability to develop strong relationships.

*Supportive nature.

*Motivational.

*Able to communicate effectively and sensitively.

*A good standard of written and spoken English.

*Experience working in the SEND Education sector or Healthcare sector would be advantageous.

*A genuine passion for working within the special educational needs environment.

*Available 5 days per week between the hours of 8.15am - 3.30pm.

*EWC Registered. (We can support you with this if you have not yet registered.)

*Holds a DBS on the update service. (We can support you with a new DBS application if needed.)
