ASB Officer

My client based in the West Midlands is looking for an ASB Officer who can hit the ground running.

The post holder will be responsible for providing a generic housing service within a defined area which includes dealing with anti-social behaviour (ASB) and all tenancy management issues. You will be required to proactively work in partnership with other service areas within the Council, the Police and other relevant partners such as support agencies and other landlords in the Borough.

The post holder will be expected to have significant knowledge and experience of managing the following tenancies and agreements: secure, introductory, fixed term, assured (non-short hold), non-secure, licence, and leasehold.

Whilst one of the key aims of this role will be to modify behaviour and provide support to both perpetrators and victims of ASB, you will be required to take enforcement action using all the tools and powers available to you under the Anti-Social Behaviour Crime and Policing Act 2014.

The post holder will provide:

- A supported environment to assist customers with sustaining their tenancy
- A pro-active and preventative approach to ASB and tenancy breaches
- A supported environment to assist customers in maintaining and taking pride in their local area

You will responsible for the day to day supervision of a Neighbourhood Assistant as well as managing your own workload and supporting colleagues and line managers when required.

Investigate all cases of ASB in accordance with policy and procedures, gather evidence, take witness statements and prepare paperwork and case files for legal intervention and court attendance, when necessary. This may include using surveillance and camera equipment both overtly and covertly.

Investigate reports that tenancies have been abandoned, sub-let / tenancy fraud and take appropriate action.
