Who we are looking for

You’re someone who has exceptionally high standards when it comes to area management. That’s because you’ve walked in the shoes of the people who’ll look to you for advice. A natural leader, they’ll listen to you. You challenge and coach in a way that’s encouraging, you get the best out of people as you adapt your style to motivate and inspire them, and you make absolutely sure you recognise, praise and reward those who deserve. Yet you’re also able to have those tough conversations when they need to be had. Superb at planning and prioritising conflicting needs, you’re a multi-tasking guru who is agile in their approach. And the reason you’re so good at what you do, is because you’ve already got significant operational experience within a branded retail / hospitality background where you’ve operated at area management level for some time. You’re also known for your strong commercial acumen and your performance and profit results.The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate continued personal development and career progression and a wealth of experience of leading team’s through cultural change.

A bit about the role

We’re not complacent when it comes to our customers’ expectations. They’re very discerning. And we never forget how competitive the market is that we operate in. Our area managers are essential in upholding the highest levels of customer service, whilst maintaining brand standards and driving sales and profit growth. It’s no mean feat. You’ll be responsible for recruiting and developing around 25 store managers and their teams across your area and be accountable for the profit and sales budget across those stores.  And because you need to be visible, there will be some weekend working too. You’ll conduct both announced visits and spot checks to ensure they’re doing what’s expected. You’ll carry out quarterly business reviews, hold area meetings, take responsibility for employee relations and celebrate their successes with them. In short, you’ll do whatever it takes to make sure they deliver against their targets, and that they’re happy doing it as well.
