Our Front Office Trading team are expanding in these areas, creating new opportunities in the business, so here’s a little bit about what we do, who we’re looking for and available opportunities with us.
What does Retail Energy Management do?
Retail Energy Management looks after commercial risks arising from the npower retail business, including forecasting demand and the associated purchasing and settlement of the required energy. We manage and mitigate these risks at the best value possible, to build a competitive advantage for npower . At the heart of this sits our Front Office Trading team, which works in the wholesale market to secure gas and electricity to deliver to customers in the best way.
As a team, we use our trading expertise to hedge our commodity price risk, based on insightful analysis of wholesale markets and our understanding of how this may impact our retail portfolio. We also have a team of originators structuring bespoke risk-reducing transactions and managing our environmental certificates positions.
Our Portfolio Optimisation team is the hub for both the power and gas traders. Market analysis helps the trading desks make commercially optimal decisions by providing clarity, insight and challenge. This enables traders to decide on the best times to trade to reduce risk or add commercial value.
