My client, a local authority based in Derbyshire is looking for an Architect to join their team.
This is a full time, temporary position for an ongoing contract. The successful candidate will be qualified with the ARB and will have experience with the design and management of construction projects from inception to completion.

The main duties associated with this role are as follows;

Responsible for the design and management of construction projects from inception to completion.
Produce sketch plans, working drawings, specifications etc. Prepare contract/tender documents as required.
Assist client departments on matters relating to property development in the formulation of briefs, feasibility studies and cost plans, and provide professional advice as required.
Encourage and promote a quality driven design-focused environment, balanced with the commitment to ensure whole life costing's and value for money.
Promote and implement sustainable design practices.
Be proficient in the use of all relevant IT software, in particular Autocad, 3D tendering packages and NBS specification software.
Be full conversant with all current construction related legislation including Planning Procedures and Policies, Building Regulations, Building Bulletins and Codes of Practice.
Carry out lead designer responsibilities under CDM Regulations.
To undertake regular site visits, attend site meetings for ongoing projects and final inspection at completion as required.
Check and verify interim claims from contractors, maintain financial control of schemes/contracts and to verify final accounts on completion.

The successful candidate desirably will have a construction qualification along with ARB registration.
