Becoming an Apprentice UX (User Experience) Designer with Orange Bus:
As an Apprentice User Experience (UX) Designer you are responsible for supporting other members of the UX team in applying a user centred design methodology on projects from start to finish, as well as undertaking smaller projects independently. You will predominantly design services and products which are digitally focused but have an appreciation for the customer experience across channels beyond digital.
Building your UX capabilities, you will proactively shadow, contribute and learn from those around you, as well as undertaking self-study to further your own personal development. You will represent the department across the business, to clients and to other third parties. You will serve as the UX expert on your own projects to facilitate and deliver a user centred design methodology, collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
What you will do:
- Understanding user and business needs
- Designing user-centred interfaces and interactions
- Communication and collaboration internally/ externally
- Measurement and insight
- Ensuring consistent quality of work
- Advocating User Experience
Your experience will include:
- Enthusiasm and some knowledge of UX principles and practices (e.g HCI, UCD, Cognitive and Behavioural Psychology, Persuasive design, Gamification and Accessibility)
- Knowledge of a variety of user research methods including quantitative and qualitative methods as well as generative and exploratory activities (practical experience desirable)
- A passion about the latest trends and best practices in interactive experiences across a variety of mediums with a strong desire for innovation
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Attention to detail with a pragmatic and enthusiastic attitude to work
