The Company

Our client is recruiting on behalf of an exceptional internet service provider with a large national dark fibre network. They provide customers with access to one of the most diverse and resilient networks in the UK.

They are currently looking for an Apprentice Network Engineer to join them for 24 months and complete a Level 4 Network Engineer Apprenticeship.

The Role

As an Apprentice Network Engineer, you’ll learn how to deliver high-quality networking solutions to customers.

Working alongside an experienced team, you’ll be taught how to provide operational support, including configuring, installing, maintaining and troubleshooting network infrastructure and providing both physical and remote support for the company’s data centre and exchange network.

You will also learn how to:

- Design, configure and deploy complex customer solutions
- Initiate projects to build a smart, resilient and secure network
- Take ownership of escalated service desk tickets and complex investigations
- Work with a variety of systems and monitoring tools

About You

To be considered as an Apprentice Network Engineer, you’ll need:

- An A Level (or equivalent) in an IT-related subject OR an Infrastructure Technician standard apprenticeship and/or BTEC
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English at grade A* - C or 9 – 4
- Great written and verbal communication skills
- A passion for providing outstanding customer service
- Strong attention to detail

Knowledge of JUNOS and CISCO network equipment environments would be beneficial, as would an understanding of MPLS and related technologies.

Other organisations may call this role Apprentice IT Engineer, Junior IT Technician, Trainee Network Support Technician, Apprentice Network Support Analyst, or Technical Support Advisor.

This role would also be suitable for those considering an IT Apprenticeship, IT Internship, IT Training Programme, IT Support Apprenticeship, or an IT Engineering Apprenticeship.
