My client are an incredibly reputable manufacturing business and they are currently recruiting for an Applications Manager.
• The Applications Manager is responsible for ensuring that all manufacturing processes deliver the capability, performance, and capability in-line with the production plan.
• The Applications Manager will ensure focus with the manufacturing engineers so that the re-quired equipment, tooling, and NC programmes are available in-line with the production plan.
• The Applications Manager will play a key role in supporting the implementation of the Lean Production System.
• The Applications Manager’s core responsibilities will be, but not limited to, building on the existing knowledge base to:
o Serve as a member of the Management team.
o Support the Operations Director and Production Manager in establishing the human resources required to meet the production plans.
o Recommend capital proposals for equipment procurement.
o Develop standard operating procedures for all associated operations.
o Ensure adherence to health and safety procedures.
o Analyse production and quality control data to detect and correct problems.
o Determine and implement improvements to the processes.
o Manage any application engineering budgets.
o Implement cost control programmes.
o Participate in cross functional teams.
o Ensure continued communication and good relationships with external and internal customers.
o Support the Production Managers to develop and execute daily recovery plans for any missed production metrics.
o Work with quality engineering to trouble shoot and provide cost effective resolutions to pro-duction problems.
o Lead and implement a continuous improvement work environment, error proofing, SMED and problem solving.
o Develop and own the site productivity and variable cost pipelines.
o Play a leading role in the development of new product introduction; working closely with the engineering team to deliver.
