The ONE Group have an exciting opportunity to join a leading automation manufacturing business based in Hertfordshire as an Applications Engineer. This company supply cutting-edge technology into markets such as Food & Pharmaceutical manufacturing & production, with customers relying on this technology to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
As an Applications Engineer, you will be required to gain a detailed understanding of our client's technology, to contribute to product development, improvement, applications testing & analysis and field-based issues. You will test the machinery as if you were an end user & feedback to development teams accordingly.
This role will involve commercial elements, such as providing technical support for customer quotations and feasibility and supporting new tenders with the relevant technical information. You will also be tasked with contributing towards the development of Standard Operating Procedures & assisting Technical Authors with relevant information.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have an electrical or electronic academic background, with a detailed knowledge base of electrical & electronic systems used in machinery.
Applicants need to understand IT networking systems between machinery, along with a thorough understanding of testing, both on hardware and software elements of complex systems.
An understanding of mechanical parts is essential, such as moving parts, motors, pneumatics etc.
Ideally you will come from an application "style" engineering background, working with software controlled electro-mechanical complex machinery.
This role will require occasional travel, which can also include overseas travel. If this is something that you would not consider, please do not apply
The role of an Applications Engineer would suit a Field Service Engineer or Customer Support Engineer who id fed up of travelling or an Electronics Engineer who would like to be more involved with customers and being an expert on a range of different complex machinery.
Candidates should hold a qualification in Electrical/Electronics/mechanical and have a technical mind set and a passion for technology.
