Peter Smith is recruiting for a Microbiology Analytical Services Technician to join a Food and Drinks R&D company based in Gloucestershire, on a full time, permanent basis. This client provides scientific, technical, and legislative support to the food, drinks and allied industries worldwide.

The client is looking for an individual to deliver on the scientific and technical projects in Microbiology. This is a good opportunity for someone to start a career in the science industry.

The role will be based in the Department of Microbiology. The department works to provide solutions to a range of issues in the food industry. The department is rapidly expanding, and is continually implementing the most up to date technology to ensure that the client retains a competitive edge.

The main purpose of the role will be to:
-Carry out Microbiological testing of food samples
-Perform confirmation tests
-Sample receipt

Further responsibilities will include:
-Tasks involving calibration and monitoring
-Carrying out standard quality system related housekeeping tasks

In order to be considered for this role, you will be required to have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
-GCSE's in a scientific subject, Maths and English
-Be a proactive team player
-Computer literate
