AMU Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse

Service redesign within the Princess of Wales Hospital in Bridgend means that we have the oppotunity for a Band 6 Junior Sister/Charge Nurse on the Acute Medical Unit.

The post is crucial to the delivery of clinical leadership, staff management and excellent patient care that the Acute Medical Unit prides itself on.

The successful applicant will be senior band 5 staff nurse, currently working in an acute care setting and should be able to demonstrate a thirst for improvement and excellence in patient care.

The Acute Medical Unit is a busy Acute Medical assessment and admission area. We take direct admissions from locality GPs and patients requiring further assessment and ongoing care from the Emergency Department. As such, the patient demographic can be unpredictable.

You will be expected to lead the nursing team on a day to day basis and deputise for the Unit Manager when necessary. Training in all aspects of unit management will be provided if needed and your professional development will be central to your success in this thriving area.

Full internal rotation is central to this post and, as such, you will be expected to work weekends and night shifts.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
