Staffroom Education are currently recruiting for an Additional Learning Needs Teacher for one of our secondary schools in Newport. This role will be full-time and will begin ASAP. This post will involve working with a group of Year 7 pupils with additional learning needs, so the successful candidate will need to have a very nurturing nature.

Role Requirements:

  • A U.K teaching qualification

  • A good understanding of additional learning needs

  • Training or experience with behavioural difficulties that will support you within this post

  • Thorough classroom management and behaviour strategies

  • Strong communicational skills

  • The passion for promoting positive attitudes towards learning and delivering excellent lessons

  • Ability to build strong working relationships with staff and pupils

  • Up to date knowledge of educational developments and changes whilst undertaking the role

  • Awareness of and compliance with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health and safety, confidentiality and data protection
