Aircraft Mechanical Fitter

Our client is currently recruiting for a number Mechanical Aircraft Fitters to support the maintenance activity for the RAF Fleet of large aircrafts. You will work in teams covering Engine repair, strip and removals, Wings, Landing Gear, Fuel systems, Interiors, Flight Controls and under carriage removals.

The shift pattern for these roles is working a 9-day fortnight 7.30am to 4.30pm. Based in Waddington, Lincolnshire

As an Aircraft Mechanical Fitter your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

  • Previous experience within an aircraft maintenance organisation.

  • Health and Safety awareness. British Safety Council level 1

  • Apprenticeship or equivalent

  • Experience of Large Aircraft

  • Experience of Sentry fleet is desirable

  • Exposure to F700 documentation, MIL145 and MAOS and Trilogy aircraft documentation system desirable

  • Be comfortable working in confined spaces.

    As an Aircraft Mechanical Fitter your main responsibilities will involve:

  • The quality and completeness of all aircraft work requested to complete.

  • Producing accurate and comprehensive documentation for all aircraft work completed. Ensuring that appropriate 'open entries’ are annotated on the documentation.

  • Working efficiently with reference to all approved technical data.

  • Bringing to the attention of Supervisor/Manager any discrepancy within the approved technical data or maintenance procedure.

  • Maintaining a clean and tidy working environment.

  • Using the tool control system correctly.

  • Engineering standards and practices are maintained and that flight safety regulations are properly observed.

  • Support technical, safety and other investigations when requested.

  • Support implementation of remedial action from investigations.
