Air Export Freight Operator

Freightserve recruitment are looking for a Air Export Operator for a well-established busy Freight Forwarder based in the Slough, Berkshire area.

This role will be an integral part of the freight team. Responsible for aspects of Airfreight exports, but the successful person will get involved in all modes of Freight Forwarding.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage the full cycle of Air export shipments
• Completing MAWB & HAWB’s
• Negotiate rates with carriers and suppliers, ensuring the best possible prices and service levels.
• Provide accurate quotations and pricing for shipments.
• Organise and arrange collections and deliveries
• Handle all necessary documentation for customs clearance, compliance, and shipment tracking.
• Liaise with clients, carriers, and overseas agents to ensure smooth and timely delivery of goods.
• Arranging A-Z of export shipments globally
• Creating job file on in house system, keeping accurate and detailed records
• Develop effective relationships with customers and suppliers for an effective and efficient service and communicating with clients regarding their shipment progress
• Sending proof of exports/imports to clients
• Support and cover import processes
• Communicating with sales and operations team throughout the day
• Provide assistance throughout the business as and when required
• Answering phones

Experience/Skills required

• Experience in Air Exports
• Strong understanding of customs procedures and international shipping regulations.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines simultaneously.
• Operational and sales (business development) experience is an advantage
• Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• ASM Sequioa and CDS knowledge
