Air Cargo Traffic Manager - International Airline

An international commercial airline have an opening for a Cargo Traffic Manager to join their Heathrow Office.

The role will focus on managing air cargo traffic operation and transit shed warehouse in order to maximize the company’s import / export revenue.

To be considered for this role you must have previous experience of air cargo traffic management in an international airline or GHA which runs own transit shed at LHR.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate cargo traffic office for both export and import
  • Deal with Customs, Dft, CAA and HAL for air cargo transportation and own transit shed operation
  • Manage staff performance and identify training needs
  • Maximise utilisation of aircraft capacity and enhances competitiveness of Company product
  • Working as a team leader with the business, and show flexibility when required to meet all aspect of flight operations
  • Develop and empower the Assistant Managers and Supervisors as future successor of yourself
  • Ensures Cargo Procedures Manual is adhered to in all Operations activities
  • Monitors handling agents’ performance and ensures specified standards met
  • Manages UK Cargo Expenditure Budget
  • Co-ordinates processing of information relating to Cargo traffic and prepares monthly management report to head office and General manager
  • The jobholder may be required, from time to time, to carry out other duties provided, which are within the general level of responsibility of the duties set out above

Ideal candidate:

Essential

  • Experience as an air cargo traffic manager in international airlines or GHA which runs own transit shed at LHR
  • Leadership and management skills are essential in Operations Management and so you must be able to demonstrate previous experience of managing people, including performance assessment
  • You must be familiar with current computer and IT technology within air cargo industry
  • Excellent communication skills both written and spoken
  • Able to provide flexibility in different rolls
  • Current full driving licence
  • Criminal Record Check / Airside Pass

Desirable

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Good level of English language
