Advisory Assistant Manager - Pensions

Main Responsibilities

To provide a wide range of financial advisory services to trustees and corporate sponsors of defined benefit pension schemes.

The successful candidate will analyse and understand financial statements and business, capital industry and market research in support of the preparation of client reports, and the organisation’s overall business planning and development activities.

The role will also involve some financial modelling and the presentation of financial information, both internally and, on occasion, to clients.

The Firm

The firm currently advises schemes with over £100 billion of assets and act for both trustees and sponsors and provide a variety of services ranging from monitoring and event-driven advice to de-risking counterparty assessments. They regularly compete for the largest and most interesting jobs on the market, typically competing with the Big 4.

They are renowned for their culture and have a close-knit team of 30 who are personable, outgoing and sociable. Education, Experience & Qualifications

  • ACA / ACCA qualified or equivalent
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Previous relevant/transferable experience gained at a reputable firm, preferably Big 4 but this is not essential
  • Strong Word / PowerPoint / Excel skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Organised with strong time management skills
