The Role

This role is part time working 17.5 hours per week.

As an Advice and Information Officer, you will be involved in supporting the Area’s Pop-In Centre in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire and setting up and attending community events both at the Pop In Centre and in Beds/ Herts .You will be working to develop a team of committed volunteers to provide advice and information about all aspects of the Legion's work. In addition, you will be expected to set up and deliver Outreach sessions in locations across Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire. You will also develop partnerships with external services to support the Armed Forces Community.

You will be accustomed to providing advice and information support to customers; you'll have an understanding of statutory welfare provision, in particular, benefit applications. You will have experience of building relationships with a range of different agencies and supporting volunteers. An excellent communicator with an outgoing personality and strong organisational and planning skills, you will also need good IT skills and be confident in supporting our beneficiaries to access online information for themselves.

It is essential you have empathy with the UK armed forces community and some knowledge and understanding of this area would also be an advantage.

Whilst the post is home-based, travel will be required across the South East Midlands and nationally, on occasion. You will need to have a full driving license and access to a car to carry out this role effectively.

This role is part time working 17.5 hours per week.
