The Pharmacy Department in Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert is a state of the art purpose built facility that makes use of modern technologies including robotics. We have fully implemented Hospital Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (HEPMA) throughout the health board, keeping us at the forefront of healthcare provision. Our redesigned services have been recognised, gaining nominations for and winning several awards since being launched.

A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for the recruitment of a forward thinking and enthusiastic pharmacist to join our pharmacy team within Forth Valley Royal Hospital (FVRH). Hospital Pharmacy in Scotland is undergoing transformational change to become a world leader in the provision of pharmaceutical care. NHS Forth Valley will be at the fore front of this transformation and this is your opportunity to join us.

The successful candidate will lead, deliver and develop the clinical pharmacy service for the admission unit and cardiology in FVRH. You will also support the clinical development of the primary and community pharmacy team. You will be a highly specialist practitioner with the necessary level of therapeutic knowledge, practical skills and diverse experience to provide high quality patient-centred care. Good team working and interpersonal skills are essential along with the ability to provide professional leadership to take forward service development, ensuring the continued success and response of our service to the changing, and challenging, healthcare environment.

Continuous professional development is encouraged and the post holder will be supported to undertake clinical leadership training. The role includes a strong element of education and training provision for pharmacy, nursing and medical undergraduates and postgraduates.

We are looking for a motivated pharmacist who has an appetite for change to play a key role in our team to help shape our services for the future and support our delivery of Achieving Excellence.
