The role

The Adult Training Officer is a fixed term role in the Programme and Quality

Team, part of the UK Services Directorate at Head Office.

The role is office based in Windsor with a requirement for occasional travel

to Regional or Country offices.

The UK Services Directorate supports the delivery of across the UK,

providing centralised services, systems and resources which are utilised by

Regional/Country Offices and the network.

The role is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of

the Modular Training Framework (MTF), our framework of training

courses which exists to support adults in DofE delivery roles.

Work with the Volunteers and Training Officer and other stakeholders to

maintain and develop the existing suite of MTF courses.

  • Complete the development of new modules within the Modular

Training Framework.

  • Develop and agree a communications plan for the launch of each new


  • Launch each module and monitor initial take up, reacting to solve any

problems as necessary.

  • Develop and implement a method to judge the impact of each new

module on the charity, network and participants.

  • Ensure that the modular training framework reflects current


  • Encourage the adoption of the MTF across Licensed Organisations


  • Facilitate the use of the MTF as a tool to increase the quality of

delivery across LOs.

  • Assist the Volunteers and Training Officer with other aspects of their role.
  • Create policies and processes to govern and record the recruitment and

appointment of volunteers working directly


  • Experience of developing and delivering

learning experiences for adults.

  • Experience of relationship/customer


  • Experience of developing processes and

policies for volunteer management

  • Educated to degree level or relevant


  • Proved project management skills: able

to organise and plan effectively.

  • Ability to communicate and network

effectively on all levels.

  • A significant level of IT competency.
  • Resourceful with creative problem-solving


  • Able to demonstrate leadership and

decision-making skills.

  • Able to work collaboratively and as a team


  • Ability to work alone, on own initiative,

manage time, prioritise workloads, work

under competing pressures and to


  • Ability to influence and persuade others.
  • A sound knowledge of Microsoft Word,

Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Full driving licence.
  • Knowledge and experience of working in

a charity.

  • Award Holder.
  • Experience of working with schools.
  • Experience of developing continuing

professional development (CPD)
