Administrator

An independent contract lab based in Chichester is looking for an administrator with a diverse and exceptional skill set to join our small team.

The current vacancy involves working as part of the admin team, however, the opportunity to develop the role to Senior Administrator/Office Manager is available for the candidate who is able to show their suitability.

Main Duties include:

Lab Admin (core business)

~Processing samples & allocating testing

~Processing results and emailing reports

~Monitoring clients’ emails/communicating with clients regarding testing requirements

~Ordering lab supplies/processing goods in

~Maintaining up to date client & supplier files

~Processing/maintaining lab procedures/forms/templates

General Admin

~Processing incoming mail items (both emailed and hard copy)

~Taking/making phone calls

~Welcoming visitors

~Preparing letters & parcels for posting

~Ordering office/general supplies

~Filing / archiving documents

~Generating invoices based on price lists/specific quotations

~Processing receipts

~Any general office duties as allocated by the Admin Director

Required skills/qualities:

** Preference & affinity for and experience of administrative work

** High degree of accuracy and meticulous attention to detail

** First class communication skills, particularly written

** Numerate

** Proficiency with Outlook, Word & Excel and database entry

** Effective team member

** Self-organised, able to adapt to changing priorities

** Flexible attitude to any task in order to fit in with the varying demands of a small business

Useful qualities:

** Familiarity with scientific &/or technical environment

** Degree or similar qualification

** Familiarity with Filemaker database software

Details of the post:

# Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:00 (includes 20 minute paid break)

# Occasional Saturday morning to cover - can be taken as overtime or time off in lieu

# Paid holiday: 20 days plus 8 public (bank) holidays

# Salary dependent upon experience - to be reviewed after 3 months
