About the role:

We are looking for someone adaptable and well-organised to provide general administrative support to our friendly team of environmental planners, landscape architects and ecologists. You will be assisting the Office and Facilities Manager with the day to day smooth running of the office, as well as helping the technical teams in the production of documents, record keeping, travel booking and reception services.

The role would suit someone with prior experience of administrative or secretarial work, who is a good team-worker, proactive and willing to get involved with a wide variety of tasks as needed.

This is a part time role and we are happy to discuss flexible working arrangements of between approximately 25 and 30 hours per week, preferably over Monday to Friday.

The salary would be in the region of £12,500 - £15,250 depending on the number of hours agreed. This is equivalent to a full time salary of £19,000.

About you:

Competent use of MS Word, Excel and Outlook is essential. If you have experience of using Adobe, PowerPoint or document management systems, that would be desirable, but if you do not have these skills you will receive training.

You must have prior experience in a role where you have used general administrative or secretarial skills, assembling the content of documents - e.g. letters, reports, tenders and questionnaire responses - as well as typing and formatting to a high standard. These are essential requirements.

Importantly, you must be flexible, able to prioritise, juggle multiple demands and work to tight deadlines, as these are key aspects of the role. The right person will meet these challenges with a friendly, helpful, positive 'can-do’ attitude; this role requires confident relationship building and communication at all levels within the organisation.

Experience on a reception desk would be helpful but not essential.

Experience of working within an ISO Management Systems environment would be advantageous.

An interest in the environment or experience of working in our sector would be an advantage.

We do not require a specific level or type of academic qualification but candidates must have relevant experience, be numerate and have a good standard of written and spoken English. They must also be able to demonstrate intelligence and organisation in their approach to work.
