Administrator (Fabric Department)

This is a well established business in the fashion industry. They have been expanding year on year too and the people working here make it a super place to work. The dress code is smart casual and the hours of work are 9 am - 5.30 pm Monday to Friday. There is free parking in the streets nearby and the location also makes it good for buses and trains as well as easy access to cafes, supermarkets and banks etc.

This role is reporting to the Fabric technical manager without the company in a permanent full time role, hours as above. You don't need fashion experience for this role but you will need to be able to use Microsoft Office and email systems. Other key skills include communication and interpersonal skills, good attention to detail and also good written English. You will need to be able to work to deadlines and prioritise workload your self.

Training will be given on all the tasks that you will need to administer. We will consider people even without previous administration experience if their education level is good.

The main purpose of this role is to assist in the administration of fabric quality as new designs and orders are introduced from order placement to garment delivery.

Responsibilities:

·Advising Hong Kong office of test requirement for allocated orders

·Sending (FSC ) Fabric Shipment Certificate to mills

·Uploading test reports and certification to customer test platforms in a timely manner.

·Advising wash care symbols and additional wording for care labels.

·Keeping fabric chart up to date with new orders and progress.

Key Tasks include:

·Review base and bulk test reports to ensure that all tests have been carried out as instructed.

·Comparing fabric test results with individual customer requirements before discussing course of action with Technical Manager in the event of non-conformance.

·Communication with mills and customers regarding testing as required.

·Perform occasional in-house wash and colour fastness testing. Buying of new supplies and raising purchase orders as required.

·Debit mills for any re-testing required.

·Update and maintain fabric databases and spreadsheets.

·Filing of test reports

·Keep up to date with changes in customer manuals
