Administrative Assistant

Full-time Administrative Assistant required

£15,500 - £16,000 per annum (depending on experience)

We are currently looking for an Administrative Assistant within the Hemel Hempstead area.

About us:

DDC Foods Ltd was founded in 1996, for the purpose of offering an alternative range of snacks and soft drinks to the consumer, compared to the mainstream readily available brands. The point of difference would be that the products were truly innovative, healthier as well as new and exciting. The company would embrace new ideas and concepts from entrepreneurs who share the same vision and aspirations by creating brands that change the way we snack and drink.

Over the years, we have been instrumental in supporting such ideas and helping businesses showcase and distribute their products. This has been our company’s ethos and true to our vision we have not diversified from this. In December 2016, we introduced chilled and frozen products to our range.

We are a national distribution company servicing over 97% of our customers with our own fleet of vehicles.

The Role:

As an Administrative Assistant you will support the PA to the Purchasing Director and the Purchasing Administrator to ensure the smooth running of the purchasing department on a day-to-day basis. Your duties would include:

  • General office administration

  • Making, answering and directing telephone calls both internal and external

  • Booking supplier meetings.

  • Data input in Excel and Sage 200

  • Ensuring the purchasing office is kept tidy and organised with new products

  • Compiling information on new products ready for presentation internally

  • Product delists and configuration changes.

  • Filing

  • Chasing orders placed for confirmation received

  • Arranging samples when required

  • Ad-hoc tasks and projects

The Person:

Specific Job Requirements:

  • Minimum GSCE in English and Maths, grade A-C or equivalent

  • Previous experience in an administrative role is an advantage but not essential

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Confident and clear on the telephone

  • Good ICT skills including a good working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook
