Administration & Project Support Assistant Education & Health Sector London

An educational organisation representing the interests of over 50 publicly funded universities and colleges in London, providing research reports, media management, advisory groups and parliamentary lobbying.

This is a 6 month paid internship. Salary: London Living Wage.

How you can expect to spend your day:

This is an exciting opportunity for an intern wishing to learn and develop new skills, their profile and to make a real contribution healthcare education and training policy. Your role will include (not exhaustive list):
  • Carrying out administrative tasks for the division e.g. replying to enquiry emails, processing invoices, following up with members on certain project work, helping prepare presentations and papers
  • Assist with organising meetings e.g. booking rooms, organising catering, checking dates
  • Assist with running meetings and following up on outcomes e.g. writing minutes, communicating minutes to members
  • Updating the website e.g. uploading new content, researching new content, communicating new pages with members
  • Assist with the communication strategy for the division e.g. help put together and send e-newsletters, gather information for new projects
  • There may also be the opportunity to work on areas within the company which are non-health related
The ideal intern’s personality and qualifications:
  • Educated to degree level
  • Experience working in the health and/or higher education policy sector is ideal but not a must
  • Excellent administrative skills 
  • A team player, but with the ability to work on their own initiative as and when required 
  •  A flexible worker, with experience of working in a small team and a willingness to work collaboratively, but also to work independently when necessary 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (able to communicate effectively and appropriately at different levels – including at senior academic levels) 
  • An aptitude for multi-tasking and able to operate effectively and efficiently in a fast-changing environment 
  • Interested in higher education 
  • Good IT skills with Microsoft Office, email (Outlook) and use of the internet 
  • Effective partnership working and interpersonal skills 
  • Able to form and maintain good working relationships with internal and external colleagues
