Administration Vacancy - Copy Typist

Landin Wilcock & Co is a large independent practice of Chartered Accountants, based in Sheffield. We provide a wide range of services to corporate and personal clients, not only in the Sheffield area but throughout the UK. We act for clients in many different sectors offering accounts, audit, taxation, payroll, corporate finance and bookkeeping services. We have particular expertise in the medical sector, acting for a large number of doctors and GP practices and are members of AISMA and DFK UK & Ireland.

The Role

We currently have a full time permanent vacancy for a highly experienced and qualified Copy Typist. Candidates must have typing qualifications eg RSA/OCR, extensive experience in a typist role and be capable of producing a high volume of accurate typing with a minimum of 50+ wpm.

Key Duties

The typist position, sits within our Admin Dept and key duties are:

  • producing high volumes of accurate copy typing (from manuscript or printed notes)
  • use of Microsoft Office suite of software
  • use of other software, including bespoke accountancy systems

Please note, this is a typist vacancy, with some general administrative duties involved which may include:

  • Maintaining spreadsheets and databases
  • Answering the telephone/occasional reception cover
  • Photocopying, faxing, filing and franking mail

Requirements

Suitable candidates must have the following skills:

  • A good standard of English grammar, spelling and punctuation
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to produce high volumes of work to a very high standard
  • Efficient in the use of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent communicator
  • Highly effective at managing own time and multi-tasking
  • Manage positive working relationships with colleagues and clients
  • At least two (2) years’ experience in this type of role

Discretion and professionalism are essential requirements for this position as it involves dealing with client information of a confidential and sensitive nature.

  • salary negotiable; £18k- £20k dependent on qualifications & experience
