My client is a very long established, privately owned, small business who import, stock and sell products to a range of UK customers and also export too many parts of the world.
Due to expansion, they need to add another great player to their team. This person’s principal function will be to focus on product sales (to existing customers initially).
It is essential that this person has real experience of working in a busy sales and purchasing environment and who enjoys the challenges of meeting and beating customer expectations.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Deal with the day to day queries and sales for UK business and overseas export business. Evaluating stock levels and assisting with purchasing product when needed
Enquiry handling, quotations and sales order processing
Checking stock availability and registering purchasing requirements to meet orders
Monitoring and maintaining stock levels as needed
Finding and negotiating best buy prices
Monitoring supplier performance
Increasing business by upselling existing clients and developing new clients
Contribute to the development, documentation and constant improvement of processes and procedures and embed these across the business
Deal with import, shipping and export documentation as required.
Some level of commercial qualification would be desirable. Reasonable qualifications in Maths and English is essential.

A good level of numeracy for basic maths related to money, volumes, weights etc.

Expertise in basic commercial practices
Knowledge of sales, stock holding and distribution activities
Knowledge of import/export procedures and documentation
Must possess Several year’s demonstrable experience in sales and purchasing in a commercial environment, ideally food/plant stuffs or products with similar characteristics
Confident use of IT for business purposes, including MS Office products in particular Word, Excel and Outlook
Must be able to demonstrate good understanding of sales, purchase and stock control practices
Must have experience of import and export documentation
£19,000-£25,000 DOE plus Performance related bonus based on target and over achievement.
