An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Qualified Actuary. 
The role will sit in one of the Finance sub-functions and will contribute
to the achievement of one or more of

these outcomes in order to deliver the vision for Finance.

This role requires a qualified actuary who has practical experience
across a range of Finance specialisms.

Individual accountabilities will be specified in objectives and will be
reflective of the sub-function in which

the role sits and will cover any of the high level activity areas
captured in this role profile. The focus of the

role is that of a technical specialist at this level that will either be
taking accountability for components of a complex process or designing and
developing new or improved solutions to meet business objectives

To be successful you will have experience of the following:

  • Delivering on time and accurate financial
    results. To provide specialist technical advice and guidance on the
    application of actuarial principles and tools to support business
    objectives, coaching and guiding less experienced members of the team
  • Constructively challenging and influencing a
    range of peers and stakeholders
  • Taking complex and ambiguous problems and
    quickly generating practical solutions
  • Building strong relationships internally and
    externally
  • Identifying opportunities for process
    improvement
  • Delivering quality information to
    internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide technical expertise to
    design technical solutions as part of change projects within Finance where
    required
  • Experience of disseminating
    quality information to internal and external stakeholders including
    regulators and rating agencies
  • Experience of preparing financial
    information for the purpose of meeting external financial reporting
    requirements.
  • Actively seeking out opportunities
    to learn about new developments (at Group and/or other external
    organisations) and applying them to current work processes
  • Experience of developing a broad
    base of relationships with key contacts across Finance and with key
    business stakeholders
  • Some experience of providing
    financial information and technical communication materials to support
    planning and decision making
  •  Good working knowledge of
    Solvency II regulations and EEV / IFRS principles and associated external
    reporting and disclosure requirements.
