Accounts Payable Clerk

Accounts Payable position for a leading maritime business based in Central London paying up to £27k

Your new company
One of the world's leading maritime services providers is looking to recruit an Accounts Payable Clerk to join the finance team of 6. With a global presence in almost 70 countries and almost 300 offices worldwide, this business is clearly a market leader within it's area.

Your new role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for managing all purchase ledger transactions for the business. Although you will have ongoing support from the Finance Manager, you will be working on a sole-charge basis and be the go to person for all accounts payable related queries. Duties will include:

  • Ensuring all AP invoices are approved by the relevant department heads in a timely manner
  • Process all invoices and relating transactions on to the system
  • Processing payments in line with the payment run
  • Managing all staff expenses and petty cash
  • Ensure compliance with Group policies
  • Manage relationships with stakeholders, ensuring all queries are resolved in a professional manner
  • Continuously work towards enhancing procedures and processes to maximise business potential

    This is a fantastic role for someone who is looking to apply their purchase ledger knowledge and really take ownership of the function. The company is looking for someone who is ambitious and wants to develop in the long-term by getting involved in other areas of the business.

    What you'll need to succeed
    You will have previous experience working in a similar role where you've been involved in managing accounts payable duties. You will ideally be immediately available as the business is looking to move on this quickly. You will have fantastic supplier stakeholder management skills and can be depended on to ensure things are dealt with in a timely manner. Although you will always have the support of the finance manager, you must be confident in your ability to work autonomously. If you have experience using Dream software, this would be a bonus but not an essential requirement.
