Our client is an International Freight Forwarder, specialising predominantly in deep-sea markets, within the Far East, USA as their main areas. Forming partnerships to freight manage their client's global business leaving the client free to concentrate on its own core business. Their management team is totally focused on achieving higher levels of service both internally and externally.
They now have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Freight Accounts Officer to join the team
Your role will involve the following responsibilities…
Passing Purchase Invoice for payment.
Daily banking & logging of funds received and applying funds to relevant accounts.
Reconciling supplier's statements.
Rejection of supplier invoices as required.
Preparing and paying purchase invoices for payment on open accounts or BACS.
Raising auto cheques for CAD Payments etc.
Opening of new suppliers and traders.
Maintaining all relevant and applicable sales & purchases ledgers & cash books.
Maintaining month end sales, purchases and cashbooks.
Checking and processing of bulk invoices as required
Maintaining high risk schedule.
Transfer of funds between different divisions of the company and any related internal invoicing
In order to apply for his role you will be an experienced accounts officer WITH this experience gained from working for a freight, manufacturing, distribution background or related background.
Knowledge and utilisation of companies' house including downloading of accounts and credit facility checks. Experience of looking after company vehicles, (tax, insurance, repairs etc), a clear understanding of making payments in different currencies.
The capacity to work in a high pressure environment, liaise with global network of suppliers.
The ideal candidate may be someone who has worked for a small business and done it all and likes a varied role. Important that someone wants a stable role and likes to work with finance.
