Accounts Manager

My client based in Orpington is looking for a temporary Accounts Manager to start immediately on a temp to perm basis.

Pay rate- £40-45K
Hours- Full time- 37.5

Job Purpose:
To provide a complete and accurate accounting service to the business: producing Management Accounts and preparing all data for inclusion in the statutory accounts, to deadlines with reconciled trial balances and lead schedules in support. Ensure correct transaction coding, sound audit trails and logical files. Assist in the general work of the finance and business administration functions to ensure accurate, timely information, liaising as appropriate with internal customers and external bodies.

Key Accountabilities:

• Ensure that the accounts and forecasts of the business show a true and fair financial position at any given moment of time.
• Prepare all management and statutory accounts to agreed deadlines
• Manage cash resources within agreed limits.
• Ensure compliance with external agencies’ requirements.
• Ensure all documents are correctly filed on a daily basis.

Key Result Areas:
• Accepted finance reports and file of formatted, referenced balance sheet reconciliations each month.
• Accurate project revenue and cost recoding and reporting
• All returns to external bodies filed correctly on time.
• Posting and filing accuracy.

• Prepare and issue Management Accounts and other reports to the agreed timetable.
• Prepare reconciled trial balances to agreed deadlines, and maintain the balance sheet controls, including sub-routines, on a strict monthly basis, with full reconciliation and investigation into differences and unusual items, such that the accounts reflect a true and fair financial position of the enterprise.
• Maintain the bank and cash accounts such that interest is optimised, and prepare cash forecasts to agreed formats and timetables.

• Ensure that sales invoices, purchase invoices and employee expenses are correctly coded, allocated, authorised and processed to agreed timetables, and that supplier accounts are reconciled and paid in accordance with the agreed terms.
• Ensure that amounts due to the enterprise are collected in a timely manner, following up queries and overdue items as appropriate.
• Prepare and submit payroll to ensure that payment reaches employee accounts according to the agreed timetable. Prepare and post the payroll journal.
• Prepare VAT returns to H M Customs deadlines, ensuring compliance with current regulations.
• Prepare sales tax returns and all other local tax returns to all relevant authorities in every country the company has a trading presence to published deadlines, ensuring compliance with all current regulations.
• Prepare trial balances and other data for inclusion in the Statutory Accounts of all companies, and assist the auditors in completing their duties and responsibilities to the agreed timescale and cost.
• Keep data and files in a logical system, such that other users can easily source information.
• Preparation of the P11d and all year-end payroll returns in accordance with the deadlines imposed.
• Carry out other duties and ad hoc tasks as may reasonably be required to ensure the continued, effective operation of the enterprise.
