An award-winning Accountancy Practice in Cambridge are recruiting for an Accounts Manager to join their expanding team.

An opportunity has arisen for a talented and ambitious accountant to manage their own portfolio at a leading regional firm. Our client is one of the most promising practices in the region and can offer you an excellent platform to elevate your career to the next level.

This role will start as an Accounts and Business Tax Manager with an eye to evolve into a Director and you will gain serious exposure on a varied client base. The main objective of the position will be to win business and supervise the firm’s growth from around 30 employees to a projected 50 over the next few years.

You will need to be able and willing to drive as this role will involve meeting a wide range of clients in the region. You will have the choice of working predominantly in either their Central or North Cambridge offices.


  • Reviewing year-end financial statements and tax returns prepared by the accounts team.
  • Preparing management/statutory accounts and tax returns as and when required.
  • Writing advisory letters to clients with finalised accounts.
  • Meeting with clients and advising on technical issues.
  • Supervising the accounts team, providing support ensuring that jobs are completed on time and within budget.


  • Ideally ACA or ACCA qualified.
  • Significant accounts experience in Public Practice.
  • Exemplary communication skills and be capable of liaising and forming relationships with clients.
  • Experience with accounts software e.g. Advanced Excel, Sage, QuickBooks, Xero and CaseWare.
  • UK Driving license and willingness to travel to clients.
