We are currently looking for an enthusiastic Account Executive with excellent customer facing skills to join our UK & Ireland sales team. The team is responsible for direct sales of products and services into a variety of sectors in the Employment, Further Education, training providers and Local Government markets.

We see this role as ideal for candidates who are interested in building, or further developing, a sales career. In this exciting and fast-paced role, you will be surrounded by a team of professionals from many different teams including Sales, Marketing, Development and Professional Services, all of whom have a wealth of knowledge and experience to share with you.

What does the role involve?

As an Account Executive, your days will be varied but will focus on new business generation and account management. You will achieve this by managing a series of existing accounts, upselling new product and securing renewals, supporting marketing campaigns, handling inbound enquiries, qualifying opportunities, managing data within Salesforce and conducting research to improve customer/competitor information. Most of the contacting you will be required to do will be via the phone or Skype and so an excellent telephone manner is required. Additionally, there will be some travel required for this position.

You will also support our account directors on their larger account management opportunities and bids, chase outstanding quotes and proposals and to secure renewals.

With this role, many of the team go on to expand their existing sales experience going into larger territory accounts management or new business sales, and so you can keep developing your career.

What skills and experience do I need?

First and foremost you will have a passion for working with customers and a thirst for developing your existing skills whilst also learning new ones. You will be keen to immerse yourself in the relevant sectors by developing a commercial awareness and you will have strong organisation and problem-solving capabilities.

It goes without saying that you will be a natural and confident communicator with a professional and consultative approach. You will be used to managing and prioritising your own work load and your multi-tasking skills will be put to good use from day one.

Along with an understanding of the importance of accurate reporting and forecasting, you will have a keen interest in technology and be a proficient user of Microsoft Office.

Some previous experience in a sales environment is desirable and an understanding of the factors and issues affecting the UK education sector will stand you in good stead but is by no means essential.
