My client, an Accountancy & Business Advisory Firm with offices throughout the UK are looking to recruit within their large SSC based in Liverpool City Centre.

The firm is looking to recruit a dynamic PQ/QBE Accounts Associate to join the Accounts Hub based in central Liverpool. This team is one of several Hubs within the rapidly growing Shared Service Centre (SSC). SSC team members work internally within the business providing support to the client facing members of the firm.

SSC Associates work on the timely delivery of services always maintaining the highest quality of output. Whilst being supported by senior members of the team they will support junior members of the team themselves. This is a great opportunity to gain further understanding and experience in statutory accounts.

The Role:

This will be a challenging and rewarding role where you will:

  • Support regional client facing audit teams by preparing statutory accounts from trial balance in line with UK reporting standards.
  • Be confident in preparing consolidated accounts.
  • Formally train junior colleagues.
  • Carry out peer reviews for juniour staff
  • Work with proprietary workflow tools
  • Deliver team outputs to agreed timescale, quality and volume.
  • Deal with internal queries with colleagues and teams across UK.
  • Seek to be involved in projects outside your primary role when opportunities arise.
  • Provide support to other colleague teams dependent upon seasonality of core work.

Technical requirements and professional skills:

  • Substantial experience preparing statutory accounts for manager review.
  • Experience of preparing management accounts is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of using accounts production packages is required. Full training on CaseWare will be provided.
  • Experience of training junior members of staff.
  • Willingness to get involved in ad hoc activities from time to time.
  • IT skills - strong working knowledge of MS Excel, other MS products and similar desktop applications. Willingness to learn new systems is essential.
  • Well presented with a professional level of communication - both verbal and written
  • Good time management, organisation skills and the ability to prioritise and complete tasks with limited supervision.
  • Energised, enthusiastic and results orientated.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to use own initiative and take a flexible approach.

Please note that no professional training contract is provided with this role. However ongoing training is provided to meet specific needs.
