Reed Accountancy are delighted to offer this excellent opportunity for the position of a Accounts Assistant on a Permanent, full time basis. This is a varied role, within a busy, high volume environment, which requires good organisational skills and a need to prioritise tasks. This role will cover all transactional accounts. main duties include;

• Accruals, prepayments and journals for the monthly accounts for Premises costs

• Daily bank posting for cheques and BACS requests

• Maintenance of direct debits

• Setting up and / or authorising BACS payments

• Arranging intercompany bank transfers

• Bank Reconciliations

• Communicating with bank to ensure smooth running of bank accounts

• Processing and accounting for parking permit payments

• Preparation of group consolidation and cash flow statement

• Preparing balance sheet reconciliations for the group

• Reviewing and interpreting balance sheet accounts

• Assisting in preparation of schedules for the year-end audit

• Rolling forward of all Access accounts at month end

• Developing understanding of all accounts functions – Sales ledger, Purchase ledger and group reporting

• Assisting in the preparation of the Fixed Asset Register and subsequent depreciation schedules

• Reviewing costs of group to ensure no unnecessary spend such as closed offices

• Ad hoc duties as required
