Accounts Assistant

Our client, a successful design and engineering company are seeking an Accounts Assistant to join their small friendly accounts team based at their offices in Corby. The primary focus of the role will be to complete the Purchase Ledger function within the organisation but there are opportunities to take on additional tasks for the right candidate.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Matching, batching and coding of supplier invoices and entering them on Sage 500
  • Supplier statement reconciliations
  • Preparation of payment runs (BACS)
  • Reconciliation of expenses
  • Posting of journals
  • Working closely with external suppliers and resolving queries
  • Intrastat

Skills and experience required:

  • Minimum of 2 years previous experience within a similar accounts role
  • Studying towards AAT qualification desirable
  • Good working knowledge of an accountancy package - Sage 500 desirable
  • Numerate with a good eye for detail
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment and support other areas when needed
  • Good working knowledge of Excel is required (pivot tables and VLOOKUP's)

Hours:

  • Monday to Friday 8.30am - 5.00pm

Salary and benefits:

  • £20,000 - £24,000
  • 25 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays
  • AAT study support will be provided for the right candidate
