Accounts Assistant

Due to company growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Assistant to join my client at their offices in Wimbledon. 

This is an excellent opportunity to work for a family owned business in their modern offices in a very friendly and relaxed environment. The Accounts Assistant will report directly to the Financial Controller and your duties will include:

• Maintaining purchase ledger

• Matching goods received notes to the invoices efficiently and correctly 

• Carry out price checking of all the purchase invoices (goods purchase only) on bespoke system

• Raise price query with Stock control team /sales team

• Post matched invoices 

• Post all other invoices such as utilities, shipping, freight, vat and duty as and when received

• Credit card transaction posting

• Foreign currency purchase invoice posting and payments

• Match foreign currency invoices with GRN

• Pay invoices due on timely basis

• Post payment and match off

• Monitor advance payment made to supplier and check at month end if goods received

• Create BACS payments using online internet banking 

• Provide cover for other accounts staff

• Collate data and maintain spreadsheets for the KPI

• Assisting in the month end process

• Ad-hoc duties

You will require the following:

• Previous experience in Accounts

• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

• Intermediate MS Excel skills are essential

• Attention to detail

• Flexible and a team player with the ability to work proactively

• Excellent data entry skills – fast and accurate

• Willingness to learn

• Self-starter able to work using own initiative

• Experience of dealing with multicurrency desirable

• Vat – Export and Import and Intra EU transactions desirable
