Accounts Assistant

£11.92 to £14.20.

Duties:

*Processing of journals to monthly KPIs and ensuring the integrity of the company accounts by maintaining compliance with accounting policies.
*Production of prepayment schedules and GL postings.
*Production of central accruals and reallocations.
*Production of balance sheet reconciliations to KPIs.
*Identification of all issues within the balance sheet, resolving or escalating to ensure resolution in a timely manner.
*Preparation of the company VAT return to HMRC quarterly deadlines.
*Management of the financial accounting mailbox, distributing queries as appropriate within the team and ensuring customer needs are fulfilled in resolution.
*Supporting the Financial Accountant in preparation and submission of the company VAT return to HMRC quarterly deadlines.
*Supporting the Financial Accountant in preparation and submission of Devolved funding requests.
*Supporting the Accountants in preparation of year end accounts, providing data manipulation and transactional analysis for WGA, Fixed Asset management and NAO reporting requirements.
*Collation of year end evidence and audit files.
*Provide accurate and relevant financial data for a range of management accounting and business requirements
*Provide proactive financial advice to business partners and managers, promoting improved financial capability.
*Contribute to the change process within Finance, Corporate Services and the wider company initiatives to promote effective financial management.
*Implement, maintain and develop systems for providing improved management information, which will in turn improve planning and decision making.
*Issue accounting advice especially in relation to month end processes e.g. GL coding, accruals and prepayments.
*Maintenance and issue of month end guidance e.g. timetables, journal naming convention.
*Observe the company's Equal Opportunities Policies and Procedures with regard to all aspects of work.
*Maintain confidentiality of the Agency's internal communications, records and commercially sensitive information and have a working knowledge of information security, Data Protection and Freedom of Information Acts.

Required:

*Part qualified accountant or actively studying to achieve a qualification with experience of financial accounting work including journals, statement of financial position reconciliations, VAT recovery & returns, and fixed asset management.
