Accounts Assistant

Role and Responsibilities

Within the varied role of Accounts Assistant and as part of small team you will support the UK office with the following duties:

  • Enter and code effectively accounts payable transactions
  • Preparing cash summaries, cash balances
  • Online banking preparation
  • General office duties, including answering the phone, filing, ordering office supplies
  • Preparation of sales invoices, booking of sales invoices and receipts into Sage software
  • Monthly undertaking of subcontractor’s payments spreadsheet
  • Preparation and posting of journal entries into the general ledger
  • Processing expense reports
  • Reconciliation of supplier statements
  • Bank reconciliations of GBP and foreign currencies

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Firm understanding of book keeping double entry, with a strong attention to detail and supporting finance qualification, i.e. AAT, IAB Book keeping certifications. Working knowledge of Accpac (Sage 200) software and excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Outlook, Word and Excel.

Preferred Skills

In addition to the required skills, other additional preferred skillset would include good organisation skills, sense of urgency, strong time management and ability to communicate effectively across all levels. A beneficial language skill would be French.

Hours are 9am - 5pm Mon to Fri with 1/2 hr lunch daily (37.50 per week)

Due to the location of this company, access to your own transport would be essential
