Accounts Assistant

Our client based in Alton have a newly created role to work in their friendly accounts department. The Accounts Assistant reports into the Finance Manager and you will be required to assist in all aspects of the general day to day accounting due to continued growth in business.

The role involves:

Credit Control, pro-actively chasing customers for payment via phone, letter and email

Resolving any client issues or queries to ensure the timely collection of all outstanding payments

Liaising with the sales team regarding any queries

Sales ledger

Managing all aspects of multi currency cash receipts

Matching remittances to payment received on bank statement or cheque

Ensuring all payments received are allocated to the appropriate invoices

Posting invoices / credit notes onto the system

Dealing with customer credit notes

Preparing aged debtors report (month end close routine)

Credit card payments

Organising EC Sales / Intrastats

Skills required:

Enjoys working in a busy finance position

Ability to pick up new systems quickly/experience with working with accounting software

Excellent reconciliation skills and a proven record in reducing outstanding balances

Able to communicate well on all levels, over the phone and via email

Highly organised
