Accounts Assistant

Our client who is looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant, reporting to the Financial Controller and Payroll Manager you will be responsible for the following duties:

Assisting in Credit Control functions within the business
Tag and monitor fixed assets
Record supplier invoices on the accounting system
Issue invoices to customers
Calculation and reconciliation of VAT for all group companies
Ensure that receivables are collected promptly
Record cash receipts and make bank deposits
Assist in monthly reconciliation of every bank account
Conduct periodic reconciliations of all accounts to ensure their accuracy
Provide information to the external accountant who prepare the company's financial statements
Assemble information for external auditors for the annual audit
Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
Maintain the chart of accounts
Provide clerical and administrative support to management as requested

The ideal candidate will have the following:
Previous stability within a permanent capacity
Currently studying their AAT
Knowledge of Sage Line 50, Sage Payroll and Xero (desirable - not essential)
Experience running monthly payroll (desirable - not essential)
Experience developing a team would be highly beneficial
Excellent communication skills
Proficient on Microsoft packages (Excel and Outlook)
