Accounts Assistant - up to £28k - Fantastic Opportunity! St Albans

We are currently looking for an Accounts Assistant to join an exciting, industry leading company based in St Albans.

Working closely with high profile clients, our client provide specialist technicians, logistics and technical solutions for live events including conferences, seminars, product launches, awards and prestige private events throughout the UK and internationally!

Key Responsibilities:

General accounts

  • Process month end procedures and assist the Finance Director with reports
  • Process fortnightly payment run
  • Maintain plant & machinery spreadsheet
  • Check & authorise purchase orders
  • Manage of pension scheme, process monthly payment and add/remove employees
  • Run profit reports
  • Daily download of bank accounts and posting to ledgers

Purchase Ledger

  • Invoices and expenses coded to nominal ledger codes
  • Invoices matched with purchase order and goods received note
  • Queries referred to originator of purchase order
  • Process invoices for payment by bacs or cheque
  • Allocate payment to offset against suppliers account
  • Process remittances, post to suppliers
  • Reconcile monthly supplier statements

Sales Ledger

  • Raise sales invoices within 24 hours of event taking place
  • Print sales invoices and despatch on daily basis
  • Forecasting events in excel for multiple venues

Person Specific:

  • A minimum of two years working in a general accounts/bookkeeping role
  • Sage 50 Accounts - highly desirable
  • Good Microsoft skills - outlook, excel & word
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • A friendly, approachable and helpful personality
  • Flexible and able to prioritise and work to deadlines
  • Able to work well within a busy office
  • Helpful and enjoys working well as a member of a team

Salary: up to £28k depending on experience

Hours:Mon-Fri 9am-5.30pm
