Accounts Assistant (Repayments)

If you have experience of working within an accounts role (eg Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Assistant) then this vacancy provides a great opportunity to work within our Partner Lending Accounting and Controls team.

You will be the key owner of the loan repayment process for both the SJP and Direct to Partner loan books. Responsibilities include the deduction of monthly loan repayments from the Partnership, application of these repayments to the loans balances and the ownership of key reconciliation and monitoring controls.

Key Responsibilities of the Job:

  • To compile the monthly loan repayment deduction report required to be uploaded to the Partner Summary including the management of changes due to new drawdowns/final repayments/base rate changes.
  • To collate loan repayments required for the Direct to Partner Lending as requested by the Banks and create a report to be uploaded to the Partner summary.
  • To apply all monthly loan repayments to the Partners loans to ensure accurate loan balance reporting.
  • To monitor the Partner loans book to ensure the correct deduction and collection of repayments.
  • To reconcile the loan repayments and deductions and to investigate and resolve differences.
  • To assist the administration team with loan repayment queries.

Requirements of the Job:

Job Knowledge

A financial background (via work experience or study) would be of an advantage and a candidate training for a professional qualification will be considered. Ability to use MS office is key, in particular the use of Excel. Able to build controls, procedures and processes and be driven to make process changes as required.

Business Expertise

Must be self motivated to build a strong knowledge of the team, internal systems and the wider business and be able to understand and adapt to a range of processes.

Problem Solving

Should be able to use the understanding of processes and internal systems gain to resolve outstanding issues and problems with minimum direction.

Nature and Scope of Impact

Role will interact daily with all members of the Partner Lending team and on regularly with the Direct to Partner Lenders. The role holder will be responsible for the Partner loan repayment deduction process and its subsequent impact on the Lending team.

Interpersonal Skills

Must be an excellent communicator both face to face and via emails/phone and be able to work both individually and as a team. Must be enthusiastic and willing to learn.
