Elevation Accountancy & Finance are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic Accounts Assistant to join a successful business based in Worksop. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop a career within Finance due to the blend of this varied role.

Duties & Responsibilities:

-Undertake daily clerical tasks of the Purchase Ledger department
-Opening and Scanning incoming mail
-Answering the telephone, greeting and booking in visitors and dealing with incoming and outgoing mail
-Raising department orders e.g. Stationary, lease and servicing orders for photocopiers, printers, scanners and fax machines
-General Filing
-Validating travel expense claims, calculating appropriate VAT to assist in enabling VAT return completion and identifying PSA and pass to the appropriate person for calculating
-Input of expenses onto the accounting system
-Dealing with expense enquiries
-Matching supplier invoices to goods received and orders, and processing none purchase order invoices
-Completing major supplier statement reconciliations
-Answering supplier and internal customer queries
-Investigating aged GRNI discrepancies to validate the accuracy of the GRNI accrual
-Assisting in resolving Debit Balances
-Provide cover for reception during periods of holidays and absences
-Completing any other tasks required within purchase ledger

Fully participate in the lean sigma six programme which operates within the team, including communication cells.

Experience & Attributes:

-Previous experience working within a Purchase Ledger environment (desirable)
-Experience of using computerized systems in an office environment
-Flexible and adaptable approach to work
-Ability to work as part of a team
-Show initiative when required
-Good Organisational and communication skills to be able to work to strict deadlines
